Murray makes Winning Return in Washington

    Grand Slam champion, 3 years old, Andy Murray joined the victory this Monday in his first hard track match from last March until Mackenzie McDonald at ATP Washington Open. The first British world no. 1, who just ended a rightful dismissal to a 11 month hip injury, needed seven game points to undergo the eighth of the American classification 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 . Murray, now classified as 832, reserved a second round match against the fourth British unit, Kyle Edmund, who had a warning.

After making his return from January hip surgery last month at Queens and Eastbourne, Murray, 31, skipped Wimbledon and began preparing for the hardcourt campaign.


His first track game lasted almost 17 months when he broke the penultimate game of the second set and again in his fifth chance of rest in the first game of the third set. Murray, the best final of Washington was a finalist effort in his 2006 debut, missed five game points before sealing the game when McDonald surpassed a fortuitous advantage after two hours and 37 minutes.
