Erica Armah Tandoh ,9 Is The Youngest DJ in Africa



Erica Armah Tandoh at 7 decided to try her hands on the is and 2s and now at the young age of 9, she is Ghana’s youngest female DJ. She also doubles as the youngest DJ in Africa.
 DJ Switch, Erica is also a rapper. She can dance, play the cultural drums, trumpet and also learning the piano.
She is from Suaman Dadieso in the western region of Ghana, where she lives with her parents and four brothers. She is the second child and only girl of her parents. Erica says ‘DJing’ is her passion although she still wants to be a gynaecologist because she wants to help women.
“Being a young DJ is not that diffcult. When you’re being taught in school, you pick everything fast. So when you’re being taught Djing, you also pick it up fast,” she told BBC News Africa.
A multi-award winner, Erica was named the Discovery of the Year at the 2018 Ghana DJ Awards. She  recently launched her debut single, Deceiver, which features her mother.
She speaks with BBC News Africa on her journey to Djing.
