An abortion bill proposed by women’s rights group and approved by the legislature’s lower house in June, has been voted against by Argentine senators .
The vote, with 38 against, 31 in favor and 2 abstentions, capped a marathon session that began the day before and stretched into the early hours of Thursday before its final conclusion
Shouts of joy was heard among the anti-abortion activists who were outside the congress, while the pro-choice campaigners, who wore green scarves to symbolize their movement were sad.
