According to TMZ, she visited the California Institution for Women in Corona where she spoke one-on-one with a number of inmates about the experience of being in jail, and their worries about the real world after they’re released.
TMZ adds that Kardashian was shown the grounds and living accommodations. She met with 15 women to better understand their daily lives in prison, and what their dreams, plans, and concerns are after they’re released. She reportedly came with the idea to jumpstart a program that helps women adapt to life after prison.
This update comes just weeks after she met with President Donald Trump to discuss granting Alice Marie Johnson clemency. The 63-year old Johnson had been in an Alabama prison since 1996, serving a life sentence, without the chance for parole, for a first-time, non-violent drug offense.
Kim continues to speak for people in prison, the most recent being encouraging Governor Edmund “Jerry” Brown of California to take another look at the DNA evidence in the case against death row inmate Kevin Cooper. Cooper currently sits on death row for a quadruple homicide that took place in 1983, but he has always maintained his innocence, and some legal experts are skeptical of his involvement in the murders.
