Duduzane Zuma, son of former South African president Jacob Zuma, was released on bail after appearing in court on Monday's court cases of corruption, the biggest scalp today in attempting to get under the allegations of graft that swirled around his father.
Duduzane Zuma, who returned to South Africa last week to attend his sister's funeral, was released on 100,000 rand ($ 7,439.76) bail in his case that was deferred on Jan, 24, 2019.
The charges, which he plans to counter, are related to corruption charges made by deputy finance minister Mcebisi Jonas, lawyer Rudi Krause on Reuters without giving further details.
Jonas said in 2016 that Guptas gave him the position of the finance minister as soon as before the former president Zuma was caught after the minister of minister Nhlanhla Nene, in December, a move that sent markets into a tailspin.
Zuma and the Guptas have denied any wrongdoing.
Zuma arrived at the Johannesburg Specialised Crimes Court on Monday after he was detained briefly at Johannesburg’s main airport on Friday in relation to a corruption case filed in 2016.FOLLOW
