Former Atletico Madrid and Liverpool striker Fernando Torres have concluded speculation about his future by confirming that he joined Sagan Tosu in Japan next season.
Spaniards relate to moves in both the US and Australia, but at a press conference on Tuesday morning he declared that he would rather head to Asia.
Torres confirmed that he had received many offers from around the world, but decided to join his good friend Andres Iniesta in Japan.
‘I had offers from France, Germany, other clubs in Spain,’ he said, ‘but I did not want to join another European club, as I had the best end possible here with my team (Atletico).
‘I will have a good friend in the league too with Andres. It is an exciting challenge for both of us.’
