A New York judge ordered an unemployed 30-year-old to leave his parents' home after the couple tried to let him exit their home for months.
During a court hearing in the presence of the couple, Mark and Christina Rotondo of Camille, New York, and their son Michael, on a hearing that their unemployed son was paying no rent and did not handle chores the House.
According to Mail Online, Michael argued in court that the legal precedent allowed him to give six months' notice before his parents could evict him. But the judge pointed to another case that overturned that earlier ruling, and called six months a "scandalous" time to ask. Michael replied that it was "scandalous" to expel him. He left the court frustrated, refusing to talk to his parents and saying he did not think the judge would read the case completely, according to CNY Central. He says he will appeal the decision.
The judge later asked the couple to come up with an eviction order that he would sign. But it was not decided in court how long Michael would be given to move out.
It was also reported that the couple's lawyer is planning to get an eviction notice that would be enforceable by the sheriff, despite the fact that Micheal plans to appeal.
