Two men accused of molesting a 17-year-old girl were naked in the streets as women slapped and beat them. The shocking incident was filmed by eyewitnesses in Yingkiong Town, Upper Siang District, Arunachal Pradesh State, northeastern India.
The alleged rapists were taken to the streets of the city by an angry mob before being handed over to the local police.
Deputy Inspector General of Police John Neihlaia said, "It seems the public has done such a thing before handing the two to the police."
He said that the teenage victim had agreed to go out with one of the men after socializing with him but claimed that she had been raped by him and three of his friends.
Deputy Inspector General Neihlaia added: “The girl was dropped back at her home at 2am. Her parents lodged a complaint with the police in the morning.
“Meanwhile, the victim’s relatives and neighbours caught two of the accused and handed them over to the police.”

Police have launched a hunt for the other two men. All four are said to be in their early 20s.
