Imaan Hammam and Iman Abdulmajid honored the cover of this month's Vogue Arabia side by side. The two wore contrasting black and white looks, including high silk turbans and feather bodices: Imaan in a white helmet with black feathers and Iman Abdulmajid in the opposite. The clothes come from Anthony Vaccarello's Saint Laurent, the turbans are courtesy of Brooklyn-based designer Nnenna Stella and her company The Wrap Life.
The publication shared one of three covers on Instagram, writing: “Two generations of icons unite for the anniversary issue of Vogue Arabia, with not one, but three covers.” It is the first birthday for this international brand of Vogue. They go on to explain, “With life stories deeply rooted in the Arab world, @imaanhammam and @the_real_iman are the perfect cover stars for the bumper March issue.” This issue is, as they shared on Instagram, their largest one to-date.
Imaan Hammam is a 21-year-old model of Egyptian and Moroccan descent who was actually born in Amsterdam. She was discovered at Amsterdam’s Central Station when she was 13 and is now a world-renowned advertising, editorial, and runway model. Not only has she walked in shows for the likes of Givenchy, Chanel, and Victoria’s Secret (to name a few), but she was also one of the much-discussed models who showed off her stretch marks in Allure just last year. On her Instagram page, she celebrated the issue writing: “MOM MY DREAM CAME TRUE!!! IMAN AND IMAAN!”
