Yulia Skripal, the daughter of former spy Sergei Skripal, is improving rapidly and is no longer in critical condition, says the hospital that is treating her.
She and her father were admitted almost four weeks after being exposed to a nerve agent in Salisbury.
The BBC learnt from separate sources that Ms. Skripal is aware and speaks. However, Mr. Skripal remains in critical but stable condition, said Salisbury District Hospital.
Doctors said Ms Skripal, "has responded well to treatment but continues to receive expert clinical care 24 hours a day".
