The White House said Monday that President Donald Trump will meet with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman next Tuesday, where they are expected to discuss bilateral and regional issues, including the Iranian nuclear deal and the Qatar conflict.
In an official statement Monday that confirmed The National's exclusive run on Feb. 28, the government said Trump would welcome the crown prince to the White House on March 20. "The President looks forward to discussing ways to strengthen ties between the United States and Saudi Arabia and advance our common economic and security priorities," the statement said.
Although the travel itinerary for the multiple stops is not yet finalized, it seems that Washington will be the first leg of a two-week visit of Prince Mohammed to the United States. He will arrive Monday in the US capital and hold three days of high-level meetings with senior officials from the defense, intelligence and state departments. The crown prince will also meet members of Congress, business leaders and participate in at least one event with political analysts and important thinkers in Washington.
