A mother of four, Nkeiruka Ngwu, 36, has been arrested by the Lagos state police command for child abuse.
According to reports Ngwu, who lives at 47 Ogundana Street, near Allen Avenue, Ikeja, brutalized her ten-year-old housekeeper, Chioma Samuel, who brought her from Abia to live with her after the father's death of the child. Ngwu, who since January brought the child to mistreat her, met her waterloo after Wednesday, March 7, 2018, when she allegedly placed a hot iron on her hands and legs and poured her hot water. On Thursday, March 8, 2018, Ngwu was confronted by several women who had not noticed the marks of insults on the child. After Ngwu dropped all her children in their different schools, she was accosted by the women. They ordered the suspect to take the girl to the hospital, otherwise they would petition the police commissioner of Lagos State, but Ngwu ignored their warnings. Having noticed that Ngwu had not acted as they had requested, they caught the attention of the Lagos State Police Commissioner and the suspect was arrested later and will be charged tomorrow.
