Nigeria's Online Publishers Association, OPAN, Nigeria's leading association of publishers and digital entrepreneurs / new media, announced the names of speakers, panellists and moderators for its first ever February 6, 2018 at the Wheatbaker Hotel in Ikoyi-Lagos. The one-day conference on "New Media as the Future of the Fourth Estate" is an interactive platform where new media professionals - publishers, bloggers, public relations consultants and social media influencers - will meet for the first time. first time. meet and greet and engage in discussions that will provide a plan on how to restore the credibility and confidence of new media, and explore ways in which we can significantly improve the quality of media content according to the best practices of the global industry.
OPAN President, Prince Austyn Ogannah said OPAN is serious about tackling the myriad of complaints from the public about the reputational damages and loses that fake news and unsubstantiated reports have caused people, families and corporations.
“OPAN is taking on this challenge with a determination to clean up the mess in the new media. This conference is the first amongst a series of strategies that we will deploy to achieve this goal,” Ogannah said.
