Chinyere Onuara, 30, is believed to have been a widow and mother of five. She was arrested in front of a commercial bank in Akure, where she had been asking alms for months.

Chinyere expressed regret for her action and said it was to raise money to start a business, following the recent disappearance of her husband after he was poisoned.
