Legend, who was honored at the Heaven At Art Of Elysium’s 11th Annual Gala . Entitled Love, Light, and Laughter, she began to wander the guests through an hour of dimly lit cocktail, crossing the Barker Hangar of Santa Monica surrounding a bright square of sinister light (perfectly calculated for an ideal selfie lighting, of course) . John Legend brought together poets, musicians and comedians to liven up the evening, in perfect harmony with a family meal created by the Los Angeles-based chefs duo Schaffer. The evening ended with a performance by Legend that allowed the crowd to stand around the stage. "I am so grateful to my wife for being here," said Legend as he received Visionary honor. "I think being a father helps me better understand how fragile life can be and how important it is for us who have so many resources and the power to try to make children's lives better.
