The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has released 250 trucks of petrol to Lagos to ensure the product’s availability, its spokesman, Mr Ndu Ughamadu, said yesterday.
Ughamadu said:
“At the weekend there was a hitch in discharging of petrol by ships which has been ratified. Today, 250 trucks have been discharged to Lagos compared to less than 200 trucks usually allocated to Lagos at the weekendGeneral Manager of the NNPC Group (Public Affairs) said that the ships that began to discharge on Saturday night ended the cargo load, and added that the long queue was about to disappear in Lagos. Ughamadu urges motorists to avoid fuel storage and panic buying, saying that there is enough stock product that will last for days. He said that a slight delay in Port Harcourt Refinery contributed to the problem, hoping that the issue would be followed.
