Charles Novia has compared Nigerians and their leaders to characters in 'The Walking Dead' series, as he wondered what system of government that will work for the country.
What would really work for this my country? We tried brutal and agonising military governments for decades and suffered terribly for it.
We tried some knee-jerk democratic experiments and exchanged a set of misfits in uniform for thieves, ethnic irredentists and the most inept leadership over the years.
I have been watching the various seasons of 'The Walking Dead' series and I'm now in Season 5. I can't help but see the metaphor of those Dead Walkers as the blighted Nigerians while the virus is our political leadership. As one dies off, another more evil and insidious come up.
That's just us; The Walking Dead Nigerians. If we are not dead people walking, tell me how so 'plenty nonsense' is going on in the country and these virus politicians care only about switching parties and paying State House visits to endorse second terms!
Each one bites one and we all become The Walking Dead. That's the metaphor for Nigeria presently.
How do we get rid of these dead Walkers? Yes, get the PVCs ready, I agree but will that wholly cure the virus?
It's a start though. It's a start.
