Seth Meyers: ‘Did We Elect A President Or One Of The South Park Kids?’

On Monday’s episode of Late Night, the host covered a myriad of Trump-related topics, including the president’s derogatory tweet about Kim Jong-un, in which he called the North Korean leader “short and fat” while saying, “I try so hard to be his friend.”
“Did we elect a president or one of the South Park kids?” asked Meyers, before launching into his own Cartman voice. “Oh, well I try so hard to be his friend.”
Meyers then moved on to Trump’s much different relationship with another foreign leader: Vladimir Putin. After showing a picture of the two men wearing matching jackets, Meyers wondered why it looked familiar, at which point a poster for the Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito movie Twins materialized on screen.
Meyers further commented on Trump’s failure to give a clear answer on whether he believes Russia interfered with the election. “Trump is so desperate to avoid answering this question he’s just talking in circles,” Meyers said, sliding into his Trump impression. “I believe he believes what he believes and he believes that I believe what I believe even though he believes what I don’t believe. And now, if you don’t mind, I believe it’s time for me to be leaving.”
Also addressed was the controversy surrounding U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore of Alabama, who has been accused of initiating a sexual encounter with a 14-year-old girl when he was 32. Another accuser has since come forward alleging that Moore sexually assaulted her when she was 16, and she has displayed a high school yearbook which Moore apparently signed, “Love, Roy Moore D.A.”
“And of course when you’re a 30-year-old signing a 16-year-old’s yearbook, the D.A. stands for ‘Dis A—hole’ right here,” cracked Meyers.
