The 38-year-old singer, whose real name is Alecia Moore, told James Corden during a Carpool Karaoke segment that as a child, she was convinced she would grow up to marry Bon Jovi frontman, 55. When she was 8, she found out he had married his high school sweetheart, Dorothea Hurley, and she was so devastated that she locked herself up in her room for days.
P!nk told James Corden: "I still remember I was in the car coming home from singing lessons and they said on the radio that he married his high school sweetheart Dorothea. I almost threw up in my mouth. I ripped his posters off the wall, threw them out and didn't come out of my room for days. I was devastated. It was the first time someone ever broke my heart.She said when she finally met the singer and told him how devastated she was on hearing that he'd married Dorothea, he sent her an unforgettable gift.
"I told him the first time I met him. We did a radio show in New Jersey. I think I was 22, and I was like, 'How are you guys? Are you happy, you and Dorothea?' Then he sent me a flower arrangement with a pair of leather pants. The flower basket was, like, life-sized, and there was a pair of leather pants with a note that said, 'Now you can finally get into my pants.'"
Pink was pleased with the unusual gift but said her husband of 11 years, Carey Hart, was far from impressed.
"Carey threw them out the window," she said. "It wasn't weird, it was a joke. I thought it was really funny, but Carey didn't think it was that funny."
She went on to reveal that Jon's gesture made her admire the veteran musician all the more, especially because it proved his unwavering devotion to his wife of 28 years.She said: "Do you know what I love? I only love men that are loyal to their wives. He is like that and I have another friend that's like that. When you ask him how he's doing, he tells you how his wife is."
