Mugabe's finance minister ‘beaten’ and rushed to the hospital

Finance Minister Robert Mugabe was admitted to a hospital after being beaten by the military, his lawyer told Reuters.   Ignatius Chombo was arrested when the military took control of Zimbabwe last week during events that eventually led to Mugabe's resignation as president.   His lawyer, Lovemore Madhuku, says he has injuries to his hands, legs and back and was blindfolded throughout his week of detention. The politician was accused of corruption and abuse of power because of his time as a local government minister more than a decade ago, he said.
