In Harper’s Bazaar‘s The Art of Beauty, models recreate some of the world’s most iconic paintings, and discuss what those paintings mean to them.Winnie Harlow takes on probably the most celebrated picture in the world - Mona Lisa, Leonard da Vinci.
People always make assumptions about who actually was Mona Lisa, and Harlow said she was not a stranger.
"People have come to me all the time, like," Oh, you know there's a cure, right? "But why would I want to be in any other way?" She said.
The Sudanese model Halima Aden also set the edition, taking Dutchman Johannes Vermeer's pearl earring girl.
In what her first eyebrows had ever appeared in the firing, model hijab talked about her piercings. She said, "I have both my ears stuffed, but I have never shown them. Just for me."
Aden also described the modesty she meant by saying that she was not only physically, but mentally. She said, "It's very physical, but it must be mentally-you have to live a humble life"The shoot also featured top plus-size model Candice Huffine, and transgender model Hari Nef.
