 The Labor Party, LP, in the state of Osun clarified its plans for 2018 governor elections and its collaborative arrangements with the Democratic People's Party, PDP.  There were reports that LP planned to merge with PDP in an attempt to launch the winning force against the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the election for the next year's governor.  There were also moves to abused LP leaders who formally from PDP returned to the party to confirm PDP for upcoming polls.   This step informed the appeals of the parties party party in the state and governor candidate in 2014, Fatai Akinbade, to return to the PDP.
