The Independent National Election Commission (INEC) secured the Osun State Gov- ernment on September 22, 2018. In an announcement published in Abujia, signed by Secretary of the Commission Augusta Ogakwu, INEC confirms that the state governor's term ends on 26 November 2018 and in accordance with the provisions of Article 178 (1) and (2) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as well as Section 25, paragraphs 7 and 8th Election Act of 2010 as amended, the earliest election date for the office is May 30, 2018, and the most recent date for the elections will be October 27, 2018. The commission scheduled for June 23, 2018 for the Election Notice, and the start of public campaigns by political parties follows the next day. Also, the publication of the official voter register as well as the final list of candidates will be on August 23, 2018.
