Harvey Weinstein was kicked out of his company The Weinstein Company following sexual harassment of a lawsuit against him by several women. The statement issued by the company's management claims that Weinstein was interrupted from his position as a co-chair of the company. The statement states that his termination was the result of "new information on Harvey Weinstein's untimely behavior that has emerged in the last few days". Harvey, according to The Hollywood Reporter, was offered to settle with the company and leave, but refused to say how the scandal would dive. The controversy over sexual assaults revealed by The New York Times has been going on for decades, and several women are still coming forward to share details of their experience with the producer. According to reports, Weinstein has reached financial settlements with at least 8 women over the years. The release of Weinstein from his company has described some in the industry as a welcoming step.
Jenni Konner, executive producer of “Girls” said it “is going to scare any man in Hollywood using his power for anything but making movies and television,” and described it as a “moment we look back on and say, ‘That’s when it all started to change.’”
