Commercial Driver Sent To Prison For Raping Ekiti College Student

A commercial driver, who allegedly robbed and raped a female student of the College of Education in Ikere Ekiti, Tope Ojolo , has been remanded in prison custody by an Ado-Ekiti Magistrate Court.

Mr. Ojolo, 21, was arraigned in court by the Police on Tuesday for the offence, which he was alleged to have committed on September 17.

Apparently, on that date, he took his sacrifice in the shrub, a few yards from college, where he raped and deferred her belongings.  The work has shaken students from institutions that have begun a violent protest to report their dissatisfaction.  After serious police pursuit, Mr Ojolo diverted to the traditional ruler of the city, who handed it over to the police.  Police in Ekit said the suspect had confessed the crime.  On his indictment, police prosecutor Monica Ikebuilo called on the court to approve her request to allow her to send duplicate files to the Public Prosecutor's Office (DPP) for legal advice.  Defense attorney Timi Omotoso has asked the court for his client's bail
