WriChimamanda Ngozi Adichie was a guest at the annual The New Yorker Festival, where he sat with David Remnick to discuss black America.
She talked about writing "Americanah," as she did not want to follow the rules as she wanted to write about her taking America.
"Much of the writing of the race I found was dishonest," she said, adding that many of them were ideological, wiping social constructs.
There was also a discussion of the surprised surprise reaction she received after she said that there was a difference between trans-women and women who were born women.
"In liberal orthodox, you should not say that," she said. "Looking for the inclusive nature of the left is ready to dismiss a certain complex truth".
She said there was a speed to give up bad intent, and she was surprised when she took over the place in the world that automatically expressed inclusive.
She said she felt the reaction was the result of her not using the language she should use, and people thought that trans men were not part of feminism.
