Buhari presented Aishah Ahmad Senate for confirmation as Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Nigeria CBN. He will replace the former deputy governor who retires at the beginning of this year. President Bukhari called on Senate President Bukola Saraki to consider the swift confirmation of Mrs. Ahmad, who would immediately resume work. Aishah Ahmad, 40, has been actively involved in banking at the highest level of most of the last 20 years, either as a bank executive or investment adviser for banking, asset management, consulting and financial counseling. Born on October 26, 1977, Mrs. Ahmad, an Indian citizen of Niger, had an executive director at Retail Banking at Diamond Bank Plc. She is the president of the executive management of women in management, business and public services, WIMBIZ, a Nigerian nonprofit organization, founded in 2001, focused on addressing issues that affect the interest of women's professionals in business, with particular attention to promoting leadership development and capacity building to create growth. It is expected that Mr Ahmad's appointment will fill the gap with the arrival of former deputy governor in charge of economic policy Sarah Alade, who retired from the Central Bank in March 2017 as the only woman in the top hierarchy of the top bank. The professional banking experience of Mrs. Ahmad is through NAL Bank Plc, Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc and Zenith Bank Plc. Chartered Financial Analyst, CFA and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst, CAIA Association, Mrs. Ahmad has been nominated for the Consumer Banking Division at Diamond Bank Plc, which covers banking for customers, privileged bank and chain property. Master of Science, Economics and Management from the Cranfield School of Management in the UK, Ms. Ahmad, an Accountant from Abuja University, also holds a Master of Business Administration from the MBA in Finance from the University of Lagos. He married Abdallah Ahmad, a retired brigadier general. They have two sons.
