State Governor Akwa Ibom, Udom Emmanuel, has redeemed his 10,000-dollar pledge for the match goal against Cameroon Super Eagles.
Governor Emmanuel promised players $ 10,000 for each goal, two days before the conflict with the Undisputed Lions.
This promise was a real tonic, and Eagles on the first day of September sealed the ruling African 4-0 champion in Uyo before earning 1-1 with Lions at Yaounde three days later.
With five goals in the aggregate, Super Eagles have made N18 million for themselves and the governor has even promised more if the team wins the sixth FIFA World Cup victory on Saturday.
