Real Madrid star Marco Asensio has revealed that coach Zinedine Zidane had told him that his left foot is the best he has seen since Lionel Messi.
Asensio has made an impressive start to the season and scored four goals in six matches for Madrid.
The 21-year-old Spanish international has been proud of his performances, and Zidane has clearly been impressed.
Asensio says the Frenchman has compared him to Barcelona Maestro Messi, which is undoubtedly the best player in the world.
"Zidane told me he had never seen a left foot like me since Messi," he told COPE.
"I was a bit impressed, because Messi is a piece of football player."
Messi has helped Barcelona make a nice start to the La Liga season. Ernesto Valverde's men claim three wins from so many games despite Neymar's € 222 million. Move to Paris Saint-Germain.
Asensio, whose team has collected only five points from their opening three games, admits he was surprised that Barca could not hold Neymar.
"We thought it was strange that Neymar left Barcelona," he said.
"He was an important player for them and they could not hold on to him. It seemed a little strange."
