Yemi Alade denied claims to support a dictator in Togo.
Farida Nabourem, a Togolese activist, invited the singer to play a role in raising the political oppression of Togo.
She said she loved Yemiah Alade, until she listened to her singing in favor of "one of the most brutal dictators in Tog, for they paid her a few hundred thousand dollars."
But when he contacted Pulse TV, singer Taiye Aliyu said:
It was a normal show in the country. It was a festival they usually did. It was not a political thing at all. Yemi Alade just went there to perform.
