Zimbabwe Pastor Evan Mawarire was on Sunday detained during church service after announcing a video that complained of the deteriorating economic problems of the country, his lawyer said.
The charismatic pastor, who was arrested several times because of his different opinions, informed the community of his immediate arrest in a video that was aired live on Facebook.
The video has shown it leads to an unmarked car.
His lawyer, Harrison Nkomo, confirmed the arrest, saying he was "accused of undermining the constitutional government."
"He was arrested at Harare Central Police Station and we are preparing for his court appearance," Ncomo said.
In the video, Mawarire interrupted the service to tell the church about the presence of the police.
"I was told that the police were waiting outside," he said.
On Saturday, Mawarre has released video on social media running long queues at petrol stations with petrol and diesel supplies across Zimbabwe, as the economy lands for lack of currency.
Zimbabwe has adopted the US dollar and other currencies to halt the galloping inflation that officially reached $ 231 million, and resorted to the introduction of replacement bonds last year as a substitute currency, as banks had less than the foreign exchange, but notebooks did not ease currency problems in country,
Mawarire is currently facing charges of improper behavior and incitement to violence after sending students to university students who in February injured the increase in fees.
He is also required to try Monday for a separate indictment for an attempt to remove the government.
The charges stem from his engagement in organizing a downward strike in July last year, closing large cities and paralyzing public transport, urging the government to ban public protests.
After his release, he fled to South Africa, and then to the United States.
Upon return on February 1, police arrested him at Harare airport and charged him with trying to sabotage the government.
