#Nigeria

After the Sierra-Leone mudslide happened, the Houston flood was reported and it gained worldwide attention with international celebrities pledging their support for the victims.
Nigerian writer, Chika Unigwe, says Nigerians can tell their stories themselves.
She tweeted,
No one owes us the right to tell our stories. In a fair and balanced world, we’d be looking out for each other but the world is neither.
so rather than complain about how the world is not telling the story of Markurdi floods, tell that story, bombard the world with it
rather the complain that Zuckerberg is donating to Texas victims but not to IDPs in Nigeria, prick the conscience of our own billionaires & our own politicians who are some of the best paid in the world! Let’s lead the world in caring for our own people.
Stop acting like an entitled kid on my wall crying about how the world cares more about Texas than about the IDPs in Naija & then returning to doing nothing or to tweeting about the Kardashians. BTW: I first learned of the Kardashians from a Naija paper. That’s how much we care
you know how long it took our president then to make any statement about Baga massacre when it happened?
Yet he was one of the first to send his condolences to the French president for the Charlie Hebdo tragedy.
The two attacks were days apart, and each one as bad as the other. How many Naija papers covered #Baga as extensively as they did #Hebdo? Did You ❤ ❤ this post? DROP A C.O.M.M.E.N.T ... spill TEA.... Easy on Shade #jaiyeorie
