Chinese Super League Tianjin Quanjian has rejected reports that they are ready to renew their interest in starred Borussia Dortmund Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Aubameyang was inclined to leave Dortmund in the season after considering the approach from China, and Gabon was also linked to AC Milan before deciding to stay in the Bundesliga.
Quanjian - Former Italy coach, Juventus and Real Madrid defender Fabio Cannavaro - were delighted with Aubameyang and came closer to signing a 28-year-old, who won seven goals in this competition, but the CSL club will not make another move in January.
"It's not a question," said the owner of Shu Yuhui to journalists. "We were in a touching distance from getting to Aubameyang, but it did not work out, it's a big shame.
"It's immoral to play Dortmund's attacking star when the new Bundesliga season started just weeks ago, and I'm sure I will not do it.
"In addition, the Chinese football community put a lot of stress on a rational investment [to buy foreign players]. We will absolutely appreciate their advice."
Quanjian - who has already praised Axel Witsel and Alexandre Pato - are the fourth in CSL, 13 points behind the leader and champion of Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao.
