Uzo Aduba 35,was on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert  to talk about the new season of her series, Orange is the New Black where she plays the character ‘Crazy Eyes.’

Towards the end of the interview, Colbert asked Uzo to promote the new season of the series in Igbo and the Emmy award winning actress translated in Igbo.
See the video below.

Naturally, Nigerians are reacting to the video and applauding the actress, who was born and raised in America, for not only identifying with her Nigerian roots but also making an effort to speak her native dialect.  Just like British-Nigerian actor John Boyega, Uzo has never shied away from her Nigerian roots.
In a previous interview, she talked about being Igbo and the importance of Igbo names. “Uzoamaka means ‘The road is good’. Quick lesson: My tribe is Igbo, and you name your kid something that tells your history and hopefully predicts your future.” She said.
Now, Nigerians have found another reason to fall in love with the star apart from her exceptional performance in Orange is the New Black.
