Lupita Nyong'o & Sophie Okonedo Nominated For Best Actress At 2016 Tony Awards

Kenyan Oscar winning actress Lupita Nyong'o has been nominated for Best Actress at the 2016 Tony Awards for her role in the Broadway stage play, ‘Eclipsed’. The critically acclaimed play chronicles events in Liberia's civil war.

British-Nigerian actress Sophie Okonedo also landed herself a nomination for her role in the play 'The Crucible' - a fictionalized stage play based on the Salem witch trials that took place in the Province of Massachusetts Bay during 1692 and 1693.
