The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested the chief of staff to Adamawa governor, Muhammadu Jibrilla.
AbdurRahman Jimeta was detained on Sunday by EFCC operatives who stormed Yola, the Adamawa State capital.
Mr. Jimeta also served as chief of staff former Governor Murtala Nyako, whose property along Karewa road, opposite Bekaji Housing Estate in Yola, were sealed off by the EFCC.
It was unclear why Mr. Jimeta was arrested.
EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, could not be reached immediately.
But PREMIUM TIMES understands the arrest may be connected to a N2.88 billion project for the renovation of Yola Hotel.
The project was repeatedly reviewed upwards, a source said.
