TheCable Undercover Investigation Of How FGGC Langtang Security Guard Pimps Schoolgirls For N5,000

A recent investigation by The Cable revealed that one of the security guards at the Federal Government Girls College, Langtang, Plateau state, has been pimping young girls.
Disguised as a  journalist making a secret investigation, revealed that with only 5,000 or less, a man can have more than one schoolgirl. The reporter said the security guard had assured him that taking the girls out of their hostel was not a big deal, which is why he had been in the business for a long time. As a result, he and the security guard met at Bani Guest House, a popular pavilion, which the guard said was well known to girls as they met their boyfriends on Sunday. The SS3 girls were writing their exams during her visit and other classes were on vacation but the security guard assured her that he would do something.A few hours later, after being given the N5,000 he had requested, he called the reporter that he had arranged two girls to meet him when they had finished their exams. The girls could not come because they wrote their papers late and wrote another one the next day. However, the security guard assured the reporter that they would come after writing the newspapers the next day. According to a 2014 UNICEF report on violence against children in Nigeria, 24.8 per cent of women aged 18 to 24 were sexually abused before the age of 18. A graduate student, who spoke with the journalist, confirmed that the guardian was known to procreate the girls.




She explained that he was a kitchen worker until he impregnated one of the girls in the hostel and was demoted to the door. Another graduate student also told the reporter that some staff members make sexual advances to girls, adding that the teacher in charge of the ICT department touches girls' breasts and buttocks under the guise of guiding them.
“One teacher used to call girls to his office in the night. But, I don’t know what he used to do with them. One of the girls told us that when she went to his office, he only asked her out, and that when it’s weekend she would follow him to his house. It is during prep time, 7-9pm, that we see girls going to the teacher’s office,” she said.
Meanwhile, an official of Langtang’s old girls’ association said they heard a year ago, that a male teacher was pimping the girls but they could not confirm the allegation.
She explained that they tried to investigate but didn’t find anything, including confronting the former principal, but she denied such activities in the school.
“There was a specific teacher allegedly doing this with SS3 girls but no one could give his name or any useful information in getting to the root of the matter. We even got a girl whom we were told knew this pimp, and when we called her, she denied knowing a thing, so, we had to disregard the rumour.”
The 2013 Nigerian Demograhic and Health Survey say 32 per cent of women reported that they were sexually abused by their teachers.
Chineye Ihuoma, director of press at the federal ministry of education, told TheCable that they should write to the ministry if they had any proof for proper investigation.
TheCable reported that the girls were unsafe considering the dilapidated building of the school, making them vulnerable to some boys who come in through the unfenced area to steal items from the girls’ lockers.
People also walk through the school premises unchallenged as it had become a shortcut for staff and people to the main road or their houses, while some students sneak out through the unfenced area or the gate to attend parties.
