Us Weekly wrongly reported on Wednesday that Gaga and Carino got engaged over the summer, but a rep for the singer exclusively assured us the claim is “untrue.” Unfortunately, that hasn’t stopped HollywoodLife from concocting a fake angle to an already fictitious story. The untrustworthy site quotes a so-called “insider” as saying, “Taylor and Gaga are still friends but he had no idea she was engaged. It’s news to him. It’s a little shocking that she’s already engaged again, it’s definitely fast but he’s happy for her.” The alleged source adds, “There’s no hard feelings between them at all though, they’re friends. If she wants to invite him to the wedding he’d go.”
Despite it being impossible that the outlet would know Kinney’s reaction to a nonexistent event, Gossip Cop still checked in with a source close to the actor, who exclusively assures us no one in his inner circle has been in contact with HollywoodLife. Once again, the webloid has taken a story circulating in the news and manufactured its own take on the subject. This time, however, the story being reported isn’t even true.
Unfortunately, we’re not surprised by HollywoodLife’s phony article. Last year, Gossip Cop called out the site for pretending to know the cause behind Gaga and Kinney calling off their engagement. And prior to the ex-couple’s breakup, the unreliable outlet wrongly reported more than once that the two were secretly married. As for this latest article, Gossip Cop suggests that going forward, the webloid makes sure a situation has occurred before fabricating someone’s reaction to it.
