#mynameiskay

2 days ago, a Twitter user, @Habuhk4, raised an alarm after discovering that some bags that were donated by UNICEF for school children at the various IDP camps, have found their way into the market. In a swift reaction, operatives of Kano public compliant and Anti-corruption Agency yesterday stormed Wambe market in Kano and recovered hundreds of the customized UNICEF School bags and Mosquito nets meant for IDPs.
Speaking with journalists shortly after raiding the shops where the bags were displayed for sale, head of operation of the agency, CSP Sulaiman Aliyu Gusau said the agency was still investigating those behind the diversion of the material.
“It was based on information at our disposal that we put our personnel on surveillance into the market and they were able to confiscate some of these diverted humanitarian items,” said CSP Gusau,
One of the traders selling the bags told journalists that he mostly received the supply from someone from Maiduguri. He explained that he buys the bag for N600 and sells them at N1,200 each.
