Barcelona Shelve Plans To Sign Yerry Mina In January

Ernesto Valverde has 2 options to back up main centre-backs Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti, namely Thomas Vermaelen and Javier Mascherano.
Both of these players have insecure futures at the Camp Nou but are not expected to leave until the summer, with Vermaelen’s fate effectively sealed and his colleague’s insecure given that he will be 34 at the end of the campaign.
However there is also the small matter of Barcelona’s deal with Mina’s current club Palmeiras for the Colombian, which is set at an already agreed 9 million euro fee for a July 2018 move.
