Ethiopian Airlines plans to take over Arik Air

Ethiopian Airlines is in discussion to take over the management of Arik Air in troubled Nigeria. The Nigerian government took over Arik Air earlier this year after reporting heavy losses.  

 

Ethiopian Airlines head of international services Esayas Woldemariam told Associated Press that the negotiations were following a request from the Nigerian Ministry of Aviation.

 

 

"We are definitely ready and able to take over the management of Arik Air," he told AP.  Ethiopian Airlines is the most profitable carrier in Africa.
