Michael Jackson’s Biopic Trailer Becomes Most-Watched in History With 116 Million Views
#jaiyeorie
Even before it opens in theaters, the anticipated Michael Jackson biopic "Michael" is already shattering records.
According to analytics company WaveMetrix, the teaser trailer for the Antoine Fuqua-directed movie had over 116.2 million views in its first day, making it the most watched music biopic trailer ever and the largest trailer launch in Lionsgate's history. This places it ahead of Bob Marley: One Love (60.1 million) and Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (96.1 million).
Michael, which is scheduled to open in theaters on April 24, 2026, promises a comprehensive insight into the life of one of the most significant artists in the world. Tracing Michael Jackson's path from a bright boy leading the Jackson Five to a visionary artist whose inventiveness and ambition made him a global phenomenon extends beyond the music. The movie gives viewers a close-up look at Michael Jackson as they've never seen him before through personal moments and reinvented performances.
At the center of it all is Michael Jackson's nephew Jaafar Jackson, who plays the King of Pop in his feature film debut.
Producer Graham King, who also worked on Bohemian Rhapsody, said the young actor’s connection to the role was immediate. “I met Jaafar over two years ago and was blown away by the way he organically personifies the spirit and personality of Michael,” he told Variety. “It was something so powerful that even after conducting a worldwide search, it was clear that he is the only person to take on this role.”
Alongside Jaafar, the film stars Nia Long, Laura Harrier, Miles Teller, and Osacr nominee Colman Domingo, with Juliano Krue Valdi portraying young Michael. The film is produced by Graham King, John Branca, and John McClain — the team behind “This Is It”and “Thriller 40.”
In its first clip, Jaafar is seen recreating some of Michael’s most iconic dance moments, including the moonwalk and a glimpse of the “Thriller” music video.

A Fashion Designer Was Wrongly Diagnosed With Cancer And Given Rounds Of Aggressive Chemotherapy In Nigeria
The woman claims that the "reputable" hospital in Benin City diagnosed her with malignant stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
She went on to say that because of how severe her disease is, they even informed her that she would not be able to have children following the therapy.
The hospital doctor informed her that her condition was critical, and she started therapy. She claimed that many patients at the hospital, including young people and children, had been diagnosed with cancer, and she had seen many of them pass away.
She said she also almost died during the aggressive chemo called “Red Devil chemo” but was resuscitated.
The entrepreneur added that the aggressive treatments cost her a lot of money and time, to the point that her customers started complaining and asking for their clothes back.
This caused her to return to Lagos and she decided to continue her treatment in a government owned hospital in Lagos.
She went on to narrate how it was later revealed by the Lagos hospital that she never had cancer.
The fashion designer said the initial hospital that diagnosed her refused to release her tissue mass for her to get a second opinion from the Lagos hospital and she had to threaten them when the second hospital asked for it after suspecting she did not have cancer.
When the initial hospital finally released it, it was discovered that it was a man’s tissue mass that she was given.
“It’s crazy that a doctor will do this to me. They damaged me, they finished me,” she said as she showed her burnt scalp, which she says is one if the effects of chemotherapy.
She said the hospital has now begged to settle out of court but she has refused and vowed to take them to court.
