The eBay listing for the microphone Cardi B threw into her crowd has officially closed, after spawning a police investigation and making a killing on the auction block. The Shure Axient digital mic made a grand total of $99,900 after over 120 bids in about a week.
The auction started at only $500, but quickly gained momentum. The microphone has quite the story behind it. Cardi B asked the crowd to splash her with water at Drai's Beachclub in Vegas, but became angry when someone later threw ice and a liquid on her. This resulted in her throwing the mic into the audience.
The rapper was named as a suspect for battery when a woman who claimed to have been hit by the mic went to the police, but Cardi was cleared last week by officials.The mic was auctioned off by the owner of The Wave, the production company that owns the audio device. The auction's earnings are going to two charities: the Wounded Warrior Project and a local Vegas charity, Friendship Circle Las Vegas.
