There isn't reliable evidence to conclude that Adesua Etomi's publicly reported age is incorrect.
Most reputable biographical sources list February 22, 1988 as her date of birth. If a photo was genuinely taken in November 1990, she would indeed have been about 2 years and 9 months old.
The confusion stems from older media reports. In a 2016 interview, Adesua was reported as being 29, while some other publications around that period listed her as 30. The reason the interview later became part of age discussions is that secondary sources (such as biography sites and later compilations) state that she identified herself as being 29 years old in that January 2016 Pulse interview.
If she was indeed born on 22 February 1988, then in January 2016 she would have been 27, turning 28 the following month—not 29.Such discrepancies are common in entertainment reporting and can result from reporting errors, publication dates, or outdated biographical information. They do not, by themselves, prove that her birth year is different.
It's also important to note that a child's appearance in a single photograph isn't a reliable way to estimate age. Children develop at different rates, and factors such as height, clothing, camera angle, and image quality can make a two- or three-year-old appear older or younger.
So, based on publicly available evidence, there is no verified basis to state that Adesua Etomi's "real age" is different from her widely reported birth date. Any claim that she is older or younger would be speculative unless supported by credible documentary evidence.
That said, this inconsistency alone does not establish that she deliberately misstated her age. It could reflect a reporting or transcription error, or another mistake in how the interview was summarized. Without an explicit recording in which she clearly states her age, it's not possible to conclude that she intentionally misrepresented it. Subsequent Pulse birthday features have also listed different birth years at different times, illustrating that media records themselves have not always been consistent.
If a celebrity's age is reported differently across interviews and publications, do you assume it's a media mistake or a deliberate change? Tell us why.
