Ashanti’s clapback in the “Gotta Move On” remix

Ashanti lyrically responded to Irv Gotti’s out of place comments about her the Queens remix of Diddy and Bryson Tiller’s “Gotta Move On.” She served her teeming fans with bars as she claims her princess of hip-hop and r&b title.

The “Foolish” singer is featured on Diddy’s  single alongside Bryson Tiller and City Girls‘ Yung Miami.

In Ashanti’s verse, she spits; 🤏🏽

“It’s giving obsessed, it’s giving you stressed / It’s giving you pressed, it’s giving this n***a missing the best / But it’s been 20 years, please cry less / We can see you and your tears,” she sings on a remix of Diddy’s new track “Gotta Move On,” a snippet of which emerged online earlier this week.

Diddy mentioned the remix in an interview with The Breakfast Club, in which he said he had approached Ashanti to hop on the song after he heard Irv’s comments.

“I just felt Ashanti – because I think music and art give you a chance to speak your mind when it comes to the love territory,” Diddy said. “After I saw Irv do his thing, I thought, ‘you know, sis may want to express herself on this song.’”

The remix comes shortly after Irv Gotti vowed to not speak on the subject anymore, but has still pushed back against the criticism leveled against him.

Back in August, Irv made an appearance on REVOLT’s Drink Champs, where the music producer spoke about an alleged fling with Ashanti back when she was signed to Murder Inc. He claimed that the singer’s 2002 hit “Happy” was recorded after they had sex.

“It helped her,” he said, referring to their rumored romance. “We just finished sleeping together, or whatever. I’m taking a shower. I’m in the shower, you know, a n—- be creative after [sex] … I think of the whole track in the shower.”

Irv said he got out of the shower and then immediately called producer Chink Santana.

“‘Okay, now it’s time for you to write. Yo, I want the shit to be a feel-good joint, like summertime,'” he recalled. “The energy, that record came about ’cause of our energy.”

Irv eventually decided that he would stop telling stories about their rumored relationship.

TheShadeRoom caught up with the producer at the 2022 VMA’s and later commented on their post.

“Please believe. It’s gonna be NO COMMENT from here on in,” he wrote. “But I felt like at least trying to make y’all understand. Moving forward. it will be limited interviews and no comments. I tell the truth cause I want the people to know the real. But honestly. Y’all don’t give a f— about the truth. Y’all gonna say and do whatever y’all want. So why keep giving y’all the real? It’s better to be like everyone else. Lie to y’all. Alter the truth. Or don’t say s— to y’all and keep you in the dark. Hahahha. I got slandered for telling y’all the absolute truth. Lol.”
