‘Do we hate our women’. - Actress Thandiwe Newton Breaks Her Silence After ‘Splitting From Husband Of 24 Years

Thandiwe Newton has broken her social media silence in the wake of rumours that she has divorced her 24-year-old husband, Ol Parker, and is 'going to rehab.'


On Monday, the actress, 49, posted a cryptic statement on her Instagram Stories about 'hate women' beside a photo of vintage lingerie.


Following the break-up, the Hollywood star was reportedly advised to seek mental health help, and she shared a photo of the Zoe Buckman piece, which was embroidered with the words:  ‘Do we hate our women’.

The lyrics were taken from the late Tupac Shakur’s song Keep Ya Head Up (1993) and also featured the words: ‘I wonder why we take from our women. Why we rape our women, do we hate our women?’

The lingerie Thandiwe shared was taken from Zoe’s Every Curve exhibit (2014) – which explores the contradictory and complementary influences of Feminism and Hip-Hop she recalls from her upbringing.

Thandiwe’s now-deleted post comes shortly after it was alleged she has separated from her husband and is likely headed to rehab, according to a new report.
