Lin plays for the Santa Cruz Warriors in the NBA’s G League. He took to Facebook on Thursday where he described anti-Asian racism following the pandemic and how it has impacted him.
“Being an Asian American doesn’t mean we don’t experience poverty and racism,” he wrote. “Being a 9 year NBA veteran doesn’t protect me from being called “coronavirus” on the court.”
Lin didn’t detail where or when the incident occurred. But Steve Kerr, head coach of Santa Cruz’s NBA affiliate the Golden State Warriors, said he would like for Lin’s complaint to be thoroughly investigated.
NASA Renamed Headquarters to Honor ‘Hidden Figure’ Mary W. Jackson

NASA officially named its headquarters in the nation’s capital after Mary W. Jackson, the agency’s first Black woman engineer, with a ceremony honoring her legacy.
The NASA Headquarters building in Washington, D.C has been renamed to reflect the space agency’s first African American female engineer Mary W. Jackson. The decision was announced last year. The event was attended by members of her family and the acting NASA Administrator Steve Jurczyk.
“With the official naming of the Mary W. Jackson NASA Headquarters today, we ensure that she is a ‘Hidden Figure’ no longer,” Jurczyk announced during the virtual ceremony. Agency administrators also spoke of the systemic racial inequalities that Black people faced while employed at NASA, as well as the prejudiced barriers that still exist for people of color.
Jackson started her career in 1951 during the height of the segregation as a research mathematician and eventually become NASA’s first Black female engineer. Jackson was amongst other African American mathematicians at NASA who were instrumental in getting the U.S. into outer space.
“Her work with other human computers, many of them Black women, not only turned around the space race but also galvanized imaginations around the world as to what we Americans can achieve,” Jurczyk proclaimed.
After earning the senior engineering title available, Jackson accepted a demotion to manage and oversee programs that influenced the hiring and promotion of female scientists, engineers and mathematicians. She tirelessly worked to highlight the accomplished work of women and other minorities in the field. She retired in 1985. Jackson was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal posthumously in 2019.
“May her name, as well as her legacy, forever be a reminder to all those who enter these mighty doors that we, as a people, have only been able to touch the stars because of ancestors like her,” historian Henry Louis Gates Jr. said in a video that was played during the ceremony. Jackson was portrayed by Janelle Monae in the Oscar-nominated film “Hidden Figures” (2016).

said studies conducted on Covid-19 sufferers indicated that people with
‘O’ blood group might not even suffer severe illnesses including organ
complications.
Mr. Alonge told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Thursday, that blood Group O, which is significantly represented among African populations, might explain the reason why Africa had fared better than the West since the emergence of Covid-19.

Facebook bans Myanmar military accounts citing the coup

Mozambique receives Covid-19 vaccines from China

Wednesday to help Mozambique fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
It was the first batch of Covid-19 vaccines received by the country. Speaking after a delivery ceremony at the airport, Mozambican Prime Minister Carlos Agostinho do Rosario praised China’s role in fighting the pandemic and thanked the Chinese people for the friendship.
Do Rosario added that “the rapid availability of vaccines against Covid-19 reflects the commitment and determination’’ of both the Chinese and Mozambican governments in guaranteeing people’s well-being.
According to him, the vaccination plan will prioritise high-risk groups, including health professionals and more details will be shared in due course by the Ministry of Health.

Kim Kardashian will reportedly be documenting her $2.1 billion divorce from Kanye West on television.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, 40, filed for divorce on Friday, February 19 to end her marriage of seven-years with Kanye West, and it has now been reported that their marital woes will be documented on a new programme about the famous family.
A source told the Sunday Mirror newspaper that Kim will document their split on the last series of the family's E! reality show, whilst it may also be a topic of discussion on a new Hulu reality series to debut later this year.
It has also been said that Kanye is 'very unlikely' to be featured in any parts of it.
It was previously claimed Kim is "sad but relieved" after filing for divorce from Kanye earlier this month with an insider saying she feels 'confident in her decision.'
A source said: "Kim is definitely sad but she feels confident in her decision to divorce him, because she knows it's what's best for herself and her family. She's already felt like she's been divorced for months now. It's been a long time coming and she feels relieved to be able to finally move on."
Kim and Kanye had been living separately, but her main concern now is for their four children - North, seven, Saint, five, Chicago, three, and Psalm, 21 months.
An insider said that she is 'worried about her privacy and kids.'
The source also added that eldest daughter North has 'some understanding of what's going on,' noting that the kids have 'mostly seen them apart so it isn't super surprising.'

They made this call one day before the 56th anniversary of Malcolm X's death.
Ilyasah Shabazz, one of Malcolm X’s six daughters, said during a press conference on Saturday, Feb 20: "Any evidence that provides the greatest insight into the truth behind that terrible tragedy should be thoroughly investigated."
Malcolm X, a prominent Black activist, was shot dead by 3 gunmen as he prepared to give a speech in the Audubon Ballroom, a theater in Harlem, in the north of Manhattan, New York on February 21, 1965.

Chairman of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Buba Marwa has said that kidnappers and armed bandits now ask for drugs as ransom.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Special Purpose Committee of the NDLEA, comprising 33 members and observers drawn from the Academia, Civil Society Practitioners in Drugs Rehabilitation, Medical Professionals, Youth, Women Groups, Religious Bodies and Public Advocacy Groups among others, Marwa also raised an alarm of increased criminal activities in the country.

Former beauty queen, Helen Prest-Ajayi has refuted the report that she was the reason her late husband, Dr. Oluwatosin Ajayi left his first family 35 years ago.
It will be recalled that there was drama during the funeral of Dr. Ajayi when his older children struggled with Helen for the shovel at the grave side.
The mother of threehad earlier responded to a Facebook comment by one Muyiwa Akinsete and made several revelations including the fact that her late husband had been living alone in Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja for ten years before he met her and moved out.
"Dr Ajayi left his family and was living alone in Sheraton Hotel Ikeja for 10 years before he met me. For the avoidance of doubt, I repeat, I was not the cause of him leaving his family. I did not know him and I did not know them," she stated.
"He met me and left the refuge of Sheraton Hotel within a month. I was married to him for 25 years. I was not a secret. Nobody challenged me or said a word. I never had any exchange of words with his children throughout our 25 years together,"

Singer Bez's wife, Tito Idakula has countered a tweet which advised women to hide their pregnancy.
Idakula in her Instagram post said there are many women who hid their pregnancies and suffered miscarriages, and also those who went public with theirs and had healthy babies.
She stated that what such posts does, is putting the blame on families who have experienced painful losses.
She wrote;

I had to bring this here to address something. This is putting blame on families who have experienced painful losses. Everyone has a CHOICE. Many people hid their pregnancies and still had painful losses. Many shared and have beautiful healthy babies. Simi even announced her pregnancy and inspired so many women to find joy during a sensitive season. That she chose not to announce the birth of her baby was her CHOICE, same with Adesua.
Everything is a choice but messages like these are subtly placing blame on people who are already grieving and struggling with guilt in one way or the other. Please let us STOP IT! It is hardly EVER a woman’s fault when she has a miscarriage or a baby loss and that is something doctors always say! Please please please, if we can’t be supportive or encouraging, let us just keep these opinions that are filled with blame and shame to ourselves!

It’s really about keeping up the tradition of collaboration between artists from different African countries. As far as on a pesonal level, I haven’t spoken to him in a while but I’ve got mad love for him. I respect his art, I respect him as a person. Just because you know, brothers can fight. It’s just in this instance, it happened under the magnifying glass of the public. Wicked Man allegedly stabs his younger brother to death in Edo state

A man identified as Kadir is on the run after he allegedly stabbed his younger brother, Suleiman to death in Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.
It was gathered that wahala started on Friday morning, February 19, when Suleiman reprimanded Kadir’s wife for being rude to their mother.
Kadir, who was not home when the altercation happened, confronted his sibling for daring to rebuke his wife . Their mother was said to have intervened and settled the fight between the two brothers.

However, not pleased Kadir was said to have revisited the issue later again and once again, their mother stepped in and quelled the situation.
Suleiman was said to have put the matter behind him and went about his normal business. Kadir traced him to where he went to late in the evening, allegedly stabbed him and fled.
