Davido has revealed how he secured the interest of rapper Nicki Minaj to feature on his third studio album, A Better Time.
The project, which according to Davido, will drop on Friday, September 18, 2020, already has Nicki Minaj on it.
Speaking about how that happened, Davido admitted that before the song, he and Nicki Minaj had never interacted.
The FEM singer said he was only able to reach out to the rapper via Instagram, adding that surprisingly to him, Nicki Minaj jumped on the track and send it back to him in a matter of days.
His words: “Before this song, I had never spoken with Nicki. We were in a club in Abuja and I was really drunk and I had also just recorded this song. Then I was like ‘Nicki will kill this song.’
“So I took my phone and sent her a DM. I said, ‘Nicki, I got a song for us. It’s gon go number one, I promise you in those exact words’. The next morning, I saw a message from her that read, ‘send it.’ The next day, she sent it…”
