4 ministers were one of the latest cases of coronavirus in Burkina Faso, and two new deaths were reported by the National Center for Emergency Operations on Saturday.
According to the press releases issued by the press departments, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Interior, the Minister of Education, mines and quarries are all positive for COVID-19.
"Today, two deaths have been recorded since the outbreak began, and three others have died," said a report from the Operations Center, known as Chorus.
"On March 20, 24 (new) cases were identified, including 19 in Ouagadougou, 2 in Bobo Diurasso, 2 in Boromo and 1 in Dedogu."
According to the report, a total of 64 cases (29 women and 35 men) are currently confirmed in Burkina Faso.
Burkina Faso, a poor landlocked country with a population of 20 million in West Africa, recorded the first coronavirus-related death in sub-Saharan Africa on Wednesday.
5 cases of recovery, including the first infected couple, were also recorded, according to the Corus.
Burkina Faso announced on Friday evening the closure of its land and air borders and the introduction of a curfew starting on March 21, to fight against the coronavirus epidemic.
