Shuga actor, Adedimeji Lateef took to Instagram to remind men of their duty  during pregnancy and their menstrual cycle. 

The actor who urged men to make give their women all the care they need during pregnancy and their menstrual cycle, stating that it is quite natural for women to look less beautiful during such times. 

 

 Lateef appreciated women for being strong and beautiful the way they are.

Babangida set to remarry 10 years after Maryam’s death

They were married for 40 years before she passed on in 2009!

The former first lady, Maryam Babangida died on December 27, 2009. On that black Sunday, the Asaba, Delta State-born ex-First Lady succumbed to ovarian cancer at the University of California’s Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center, Los Angeles, aged 61.

Maryam got married to the then Major Ibrahim Babangida on September 6, 1969, shortly before her 21st birthday.  The marriage was blessed with two boys and two girls––Mohammed, Aminu, Aisha and Halima.

In this exclusive interview with SUN News, General Babangida, who was at his wife’s bed side when her life ebbed, went down memory lane and revealed that though the passage of time had reduced the pain, the tragic loss has not totally healed.

Excerpts:

It would be 10 years on December 27, this year, since your wife, the former First Lady, passed on. How has life been with you without Dr. Maryam Babangida?

It hasn’t been easy, I must say. But thanks be to God. Her children and my friends try to take away that burden off me and they have been very successful so far.

What have been the pains?

Kwara government seizes Saraki’s land.. to use it as a new secretariat

The Kwara State Government has taken over land owned by the Saraki Family in Ilorin. It will be used for a new secretariat for civil servants.

Chief Press Secretary to Kwara Governor, Rafiu Ajakaiye announced the decision Friday.

Ajakaiye said the land was originally meant for Government Secretariat and parking space of the Civil Service Clinic, but was unlawfully allocated to a private firm, Asa Investments Limited, without any record of payment to the state government.

Part of the land, situated beside the Civil Service Clinic, is also right in front of late Dr Olusola Saraki’s residence.

Wikipedia ban: Top court calls for Turkey to lift block

Turkey's Constitutional Court has ruled that the country's block on accessing Wikipedia is unconstitutional.

The court said the ban violated rights concerning freedom of expression, and ordered it be lifted.

The Turkish government barred the website in 2017 because of entries suggesting Turkey had co-operated with jihadist militants in Syria.

Turkish censors have often temporarily blocked websites carrying content critical of the government.

Police officer who shot 39-year old man dead in Lagos is arrested

A police sergeant, Lukmon Akanbi has been arrested for shooting dead one Ramon Babatunde Adeniji around Eko Atlantic area of Victoria Island, Lagos.Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, ordered his arrest.
The suspect, with the number F/No 448407, attached to Victoria Island Police Station was said to have shot dead Adeniyi, 39, of campus area of Lagos Island.

The incident happened on Friday at about 04:20am around Eko Atlantic Victoria Island, Lagos.

Morocco jails YouTuber 4 years for insulting King

A Moroccan YouTuber has been sentenced to 4 years in prison for “insulting the king” in a video broadcast on social networks, his lawyer says.

In a separate case, a Moroccan journalist and activist was charged and detained over a tweet that had criticized a court decision, his defense council tells AFP.

The cases come after the Moroccan Human Rights Association had deplored in July an “escalation of violations of human rights and public and individual freedoms” in Morocco.

Bruce Lee's daughter sues fast food chain over late father's image use

A company run by Bruce Lee's daughter is suing a popular Chinese fast food chain over its use of an image of the late martial arts star.

Shannon Lee's Bruce Lee Enterprises alleges Real Kungfu has used the image in its logo without permission.

The firm wants the fast food chain to immediately remove the image, and is reportedly seeking $30m (£23.1m) in compensation.

Kogi government uncovers 300 ghost workers

The Kogi State Government says over 300 ghost workers have again found their way into its payroll.

The state Head of Service, Mrs Deborah Ogunmola, disclosed this in Lokoja on Thursday.

She said that the development was at the centre of the meeting she held with permanent secretaries and directors of finance and administration in the state civil service on Dec. 26.
